The Inn Above Tide
Sausalito, California

Romance at it's best
Right on the water in San Francisco, in the city of Sausalito, overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge and Richardson Bay sits The Inn Above Tide. Each of the guest rooms received individual attention, due to their individual sizes and orientations within the long rectangular building configuration. This lent itself to a very custom hotel which felt more like a lavish home or destination resort.
Romance was the key descriptor for these luxurious suites. Spacious living spaces and wet bars. All suites face the San Francisco Bay, all with their own fireplace where guests can watch the sailboats and ferries, full of commuters, while gazing across at the stretch where the town of Tiburon sits. Even the artwork was hand-curated with original oil paintings, so that no two rooms had the same pieces.
Curated Colors and Artwork
What makes this boutique hotel special was the color palette – blue and white, evocative of the colors just off the balconies, sumptuous yet durable, to hold up over time. Each room also has its own uniquely-designed romantic canopy bed with ample pillows for luxuriating in bed.
In the bathrooms, blue granite vanities complimented the hues in the bay, paired with large stall showers and Jacuzzi tubs for soaking, offering hotel amenities in a luxury setting. Nearby Alta Mira Hotel on the hill and the ability to walk to restaurants makes guests feel as if they’re vacationing in Europe.

Looking forward to many more collaborations together.
Serene, tranquil, romantic, depict just some of the emotions that represent what the Inn Above Tide has stood for since 1961 when we first built our 63 room boutique property on the bay. Betsy, from our first meeting, when we described our vision, you never missed a beat! We couldn’t be prouder of your talent & our “new treasure on the bay.” Looking forward to many more collaborations together.
